Cookies baked ... check

Posted by
Larry Lefever (Lititz, United States) on 23 December 2010 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Oh, that's not all of them. Marcia bakes tons and keeps them hidden around the house from the cookie monster ... that would be me. The Santas are from Russia, hand carved and hand painted.

Many thanks for visiting and though I may not always reply to your comments, know that they are greatly appreciated.

Lovely again Larry. I feel like beeing in Santa's home, a fairy, magic place, full of elfs, dwarfs, toys, cakes. Lights and colors deliver a warm atmosphere. I feel like a little kid, impatient !
Thansk for the cakes Marcia ! :-))

wonderful scenery. tough that we don't have smelling screens ;-) your dedi moroz are really pretty. especially the one riding on the ice bear is cute. do you keep them there until january when the REAL ded moroz comes to the orthodox world? raised in the gdr i remember we celebrated the russian christmas in january at school, so we all had christmas twice a year :-)

@trilliana: Thanks so much for the background. I remember now that the shop owner where I bought these called them father frost. Back stories are always fascinating.

Yummy! Smart Marcia. Very beautiful shot of course. I just pulled out all the ingredients this morning, ready for a big batch of cookies. All German traditional recipes going back generations. Isn't it fun!

@Bettina: Yummy is right. Enjoy your baking and don't let the cookies float away! (Been watching the news and thinking about you.)

Nom nom nom.. looks delicious. I'm baking tomorrow morning. I will be lucky if there are any left by the time they cool. It would seem there is a great infestation of cookie monsters!
