The Little Road ...

.. that couldn't decide. Interesting side note. This is Amish country and the darker areas of the road are where the state had to patch the groves worn by the horses steel shoes.

Many thanks for visiting and though I may not always reply to your comments, know that they are greatly appreciated.

So nice to have a designated morning give two extra hours on the day. The sinewy blacktop takes us through the ground fog. best...jerry

Barbara Manners from Toronto, Canada

You definitely have a gift for the early morning shot!! Very peaceful!!

20 Apr 2010 5:06pm

@Barbara Manners: Thanks, Barbara. Sunrise is getting earlier and earlier, with less rush hour traffic. My scenes may look deserted, but trust me ... there's plenty of traffic to deal with.

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

Gorgeous! The composition and exposure are to perfection!!!

@Magda: Thanks, Magda. Have a great day.

Thea from Leeuwarden, Netherlands

A beautiful the still hanging fog and the light on the road.
Intresting to learn there are special roads for the Amish horses!

20 Apr 2010 7:22pm

@Thea: Thanks, Thea. Well, there aren't really special roads just for the Amish. They use the same roads as our cars. What's special is that we repair the damage caused by their horses. For me it's a small price to pay for what they add to the community.

PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United States

Really nice shot - love the "starburst"

20 Apr 2010 7:53pm

@PD: Thanks. Wide lens and a small f-stop will do it every time.

Beautiful shot Larry. I love how the cool blue dominates one side and the warm yellow and green dominate the other side. It's like morning hasn't reached the other side of the road yet :)

As I've written before, you have the knack of making the ordinary look extraordinary. Thank you for that. I live in Amish country and wondered about the repairing of the sides of the roads. Thanks for the answer.

The Amish are interesting. My husband had a few shots but in some cases they refused to let themselves be photographed.
